On a Plane About to Make a Crash Landing

Watching the news as it relates to Bible prophecy is interesting. People have been saying for centuries that the Lord could come back at any time; perhaps that's why there are so many scoffers will be around (as predicted in 2 Peter 3:3). Never before in history has the conditions been right for all of Revelation's prophecies to be literally fulfilled.

Someone mentioned on another page that I wrote quite a while back that it seems as if people are looking forward to the Lord's coming. There are two ways to look at it:

1) Going to Heaven will be great. It will be nice to go to a world without violence, hate, and sin.

2) On the other hand, I have friends that aren't going there... yet. I don't want to leave them here to face all the calamities that the book of Revelation predicts. I pray for my friends every day, but I'm still concerned. I'd rather suffer here until I'm 100 years old, under whatever circumstances that the Lord would have me face, than to see my friends or unsaved family members enter unending doom.

So while I'm looking forward to enter Heaven, if the Lord wants me to wait, I'm happy to do it. In the meantime, it feels as if I'm on a plane that's about to crash. I can't see the ground, and the altimeter is not working, so I don't know how long it is going to take until the plane crashes. My head knows that at the very last minute, my rapture parachute is going to go off and I'm out of here, safe before I hit the bottom. It also might get pretty scary down here before we hit the ground; most people on this earth have lived through more hardships than the ones we face today. Until we hit the bottom, I need to tell others about Jesus, and to tell them to put on their parachutes and accept his forgiveness, before the crash (Tribulation) begins.

Greek Bailout Comes with Strings

Germany has decide to bail out Greece. Stocks rose today on hopes that Europe has been financially saved. The Greek bailout didn't come without a cost, however. Germany has the right to oversee Greece's financial system and advise them on actions to take.

The Bible says that in the last days, there will be a one-world government. We can't have this New World Order while the countries of the world maintain their sovereignty. If those of us that believe that we are in the end times are right, then we are likely to see countries giving away portions of the sovereignty in the future.

US Border Patrol Agent Gets Two Years In Prison

A United States Border Patrol agent, Jesus Diaz Jr., received two years in prison for the way he treated a drug smuggler on the border.

Reports vary about how Diaz handled the teenage smuggler. The Blaze reported that he pulled up on the smuggler's handcuffs. MySanAntonio.com reports that he kicked the teen's feet out from under him and kneed him. Both reports mention that photographs taken of the individual did not show any injuries. The smuggler did have soreness in his shoulders from carrying the heavy backpack of drugs though.

Who in their right mind would get a job as a US Border Patrol Agent? These people have a difficult job to do, and they have to be able to control the criminals that they come against. The whole border situation smells of corruption.

Protests Going on in Israel Too

With the US News media primarily focused on United States news, it's easy to forget that there are protests and violence continuing in other parts of the world. The Arab spring has not ended. Protests continue in Egypt, Syria, and even Israel.

If only one country was out of control, then it wouldn't be a major problem. Unfortunately, there are protests all over the world, and in many cases, these protests are accompanied by violence.

Perhaps this is what Jesus was referring to in Matthew 24:37, when he said "But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. " Up until a couple of years ago, I was thinking in terms of an increase in crimes and some persecution of Christians. These protests may spread. We don't really have much evidence on how violent things were in Noah's time; most of the evidence was washed away and/or buried during the flood.

Keep watchful, and keep praying.
